Loveseat 04:15
Lately I’ve been feeling lonely Even when you’re with me in our loveseat I can’t get through; the console is blocking An intimate time with you (oh baby) You, I got it for you For you, my heart belongs to you, my love It’s you Maybe when we get older Giving each other cold shoulders I’ll wait for it to be clear, my dear And I’ll love you Make sweet love with you; my heart belongs to you my love, only for you, it’s true If I happen to die first Would you drive me in your hearse? I’ll wait for your time to come, honey When I’m bored in the afterlife I’ll envision your lips greeting mine And lay you down on a bed of clouds Placing my tongue between your bosom then down We go to our double crypt Head to to head; together til the end Arranged just for you, baby blue When we decompose from the earth When are remains are just dirt The soil will revive us two

Could’ve been me Out for a drive Hit with concrete How can one survive? Please let me hold you One last time Let me lay you to rest Shot in the head One fell to their death Night after night Being grateful for life Please let me hold you One last time Let me lay you to rest

Wait for You 03:07
I don’t want to be a burden Can I call you up? Always busy working The story of us I don’t want to be a bother You say you miss me too Can’t help but wonder Why I feel like I’m losing you? Feeling like I’m dying But I know it’s just the drugs That got me overthinking Have I forgotten how to have fun? Maybe all I need is a little bit of you I’ll wait for you Feeling ecstatic Caught my second wind Trying to keep at it But it’s looking pretty dim These thoughts in my head Could I ever win? Hearing your footsteps Walking up the stairs and coming in Maybe all I need is a little bit of you I’ll wait for you Just a tiny piece of you I’ll wait for you

Evil Eye 06:15
Waking up in the late afternoon Reaching for a glass half full Heading out in the middle of the night Passing through Hamsa’s evil eye Isn’t it good? You say it’s bad for you Sleepless nights Picking fights with you We can make this work, baby Just try for us A year’s time I still can’t think right I’m going out of my head over you We won’t make this work Tried so hard for us to only fall down And we can’t get pulled back up Oh no. I guess I’ll just stay down

about

"This project was conceived at the time when I moved to Normal Heights during the pandemic. It is also the city where I work at the morgue. It seemed fitting to have started my first solo venture as this was the first time I felt a sense of independence. I wanted to go beyond that even more and show you all a glimpse of what I encounter through my daily life here in central San Diego. I hope to resonate with others who can relate to the themes of love and death on these four tracks." - Luis Mireles
